Path studies

The path studies concept is used to refer to a set of open studies completed at a Finnish open UAS in a goal-oriented manner. The path studies usually include first-year studies of a degree programme. We recommend path studies for motivated people whose aim is to apply for a LAMK degree programme in the future.

At bachelor-level, the path studies are worth 55 ECTS credits, and at master-level they are worth 10-15 ECTS credits, depending on the programme. LAMK offers both Finnish and English bachelor-level and master-level path studies.

After completing the path studies, you can apply for a LAMK degree programme by separate application at studyinfo.fi. If you are admitted as a degree student, the open studies which you have completed will be credited, subject to approval, towards your degree at Lahti University of Applied Sciences. You can also apply via joint application. In that case, the same principles of accreditation apply.

  • Bachelor of Business Administration, International Business, full-time studies (55 ECTS)
  • Bachelor of Business Administration, Business Information Technology, full-time studies (55 ECTS)

Registration

Path studies are in principle available for all, regardless of educational background. However, you are required to have at least a Bachelor-level degree if you wish to register for Master-level path studies.

We expect you to be at least 18 years of age when starting your studies. Good written and verbal English language skills are required. The places in Open UAS are allocated on a first come first serve.

Language testing

We will arrange English language tests for those who register for Bachelor-level path studies. That's because studying in English requires fluent spoken and written English.

The language test consists of a group discussion and a written task. Passing the test is a prerequisite for you to be able to start the path studies.

Finnish path studies

If your native language is not Finnish and you wish to register for Finnish path studies, we expect you to have Finnish skills of at least level B1 or YKI 3.
