Susan Alcorn MacKay, M.Ed, has been the director of The Glenn Crombie Centre for Disability Services at Cambrian College since its opening in 1996. Previous to that, she was the first Coordinator of Disability Services at Cambrian, starting in 1986. She is also the director of The Northern Ontario Assessment & Resource Centre also at Cambrian College.
Anna Degerman graduated in 2008 as an early childhood music teacher and Werbeck-method 2000. She has been teaching music to disabled adults since 2005, and has been involved in research focusing on music education for adults with autism or Down syndrome.
Col. (R) V.K. Gaur, VSM, is the Executive Director of Manav Rachna Educational Institutions. He is guiding, monitoring and controlling all the activities in the fields of Science and Management in the three Organs of Manav Rachna Family, namely Faridabad Institute of Technology, Manav Rachna Dental College and Manav Rachna College of Education. Currently, he is pursuing his research “The Genesis of Management Principles in the Gita”. His areas of interest include quantitative techniques, strategic management and leadership.
Hiroo Hagino, Dr., Associate Professor, Tohoku Fukushi University, is a specialist in field of political science, especially in local administration. He got his doctor degree by research of the establishment process of Japanese public enterprise system. He is now trying to analyze and classify the factors of the health-social care network system Japan and Finland. He stayed in Helsinki from 2007 - 2008 as the visiting researcher of Helsinki School of Economics.
Eeva Halme is currently working as the managing director and is responsible for the creation and implementation of a new functional model for the commercial enterprise Oiva, which combines the social- and healthcare services of five municipalities.
Sari Högström, RN, Master of health sciences is working in Alzheimer society of Finland, in department of development.
Tarja Hannuksela is a student in a music education program for preschool teachers. She gives kantele (traditional Finnish string instrument) lessons for the elderly.
Taavi Heikkilä is CEO of S-Hämeenmaa. S-Hämeenmaa is retail company and the biggest company in Häme region. Heikkilä is also member of the board of SOK and chairman of the board of Häme Chamber of commerce.
Antti Holopainen, MD, Medical Director of Järvenpää Addiction Hospital. Medical speciality in general practice. He worked earlier in Finnish health centres and occupational health services and as a part-time physician in an A-clinic and detoxification centre. For the last 20 years, he has worked as a full-time addiction medicine specialist. In addition, for the last 11 years he has worked as the Director of the Järvenpää Addiction Hospital.
Patrik Kuusinen, PhD, Senior Advisor, Ministry of Employment and the Economy. Tasks in the ministry are related to integrating social and employment policies, preparation of the strategy in vocational rehabilitation and disability policy as a whole, and leading the implementation of the vocational rehabilitation within public employment services.
Helinä Melkas, D.Sc. (Tech.), is a Senior Research Fellow and an Adjunct Professor at Lappeenranta University of Technology, Lahti Unit. Her research is related to, inter alia, elderly care services, technology use and public sector innovations.
Sanna Pekkola, M.Sc. (Tech.), is a Researcher in the Performance Measurement Team at Lahti Unit, Department of Industrial Management, Lappeenranta University of Technology. Her current research focuses on performance measurement systems and performance management in private enterprises and public organisations.
Arja Piirainen, M.Sc in health sciences, Ph.D (Adult Ed.), has been working as the head of the research group studying support for the home-dwelling elderly with the concept "Caring TV" in the city of Espoo. She currently works as a lecturer at the University of Jyväskylä, where rehabilitation is one of her main areas of interests.
Matleena Takaluoma, Lecturer, MSc (Nurs.), RN, Lahti University of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Social- and Health Care. Matleena Takaluoma is developing problem-based learning method in nursing education especially during the first year studies.
Hannele Tiittanen, Principal lecturer, LicNSc, MSc (Educ), Lahti University of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Social- and Health Care. Hannele Tiittanen is developing a nursing programme and leading the curriculum work in nursing programme.
Päivi Topo, Ph.D in sociology, Adjunct Professor in sociology of medicine, works as an academy research fellow in the Academy of Finland. She has been involved in research focusing on ageing, technology, care and services and ethical issues related to these topics for several years.
Hanna Untala, Bachelor of lifelong learning and education, is an early childhood music teacher. She has worked as a music teacher with children aged 0-14 and as an adult educator. She is currently developing musical models at schools which support inclusion coming true (The World of Music Project, Ahjola settlement).
Raisa Valve, Ph.D, works as the Head of Development in the Palmenia Center for Continuing Education at the University of Helsinki in Finland. She is involved in regional research and development projects and intervention trials conducted in social and health care settings. Major focus is on ageing and promotion of health and social welfare.
Marja Vuori, Ph.D (Music), is a teacher and a researcher in the Music Department of Lahti University of Applied Sciences. She is in charge of the development of the music pedagogy curriculum.
Ilkka Väänänen, Ph.D works as the Research Director in Lahti University of Applied Science. He is exercise physiologist and he has investigated the psycho-physiological responses to the daily repeated different prolonged exercises.
