The Multicultural Centre of Lahti
The Multicultural Centre of Lahti, known as Multi-Culti, is an international meeting point and activity centre for both foreigners and Finns who live or stay in Lahti. Multi-Culti provides hobbies and activity groups, courses and lectures, cultural evenings, international education projects, parties and outings etc. Multi-Culti is open for everybody and has no membership fees. You can visit Multi-Culti to read international newspapers, play games or just to have a cup of coffee.
Lahti University of Applied Sciences co-operates with Multi-Culti by organizing happenings for students together.

Shopping and Groceries
Most shopping centers and shops are open from Monday through Friday from 8.00 or 09.00 to 20.00, and on Saturdays till 18.00. Supermarkets stay open on weekdays till 21.00 and on Saturdays and Sundays till 18.00; it should be noted though, that they usually won't open until 12.00 o'clock on Sundays. Before Christmas, it is common that grocery stores stay open till 21.00 even on Sundays. The opening hours for restaurants vary; some close earlier (ca.20.00) whereas some are open till midnight.
