Lahden Ammattikorkeakoulu, abbreviated to LAMK, is a large, multidisciplinary university of applied sciences, located some 100 km north of the Finnish capital, Helsinki.

It is a centre of expertise with over 5,000 enrolled students and approximately 200 full-time teaching staff.

The new English name of Lahden Ammattikorkeakoulu, Lahti University of Applied Sciences, reflects the level and orientation of education and training, and research and development given at LAMK. The Bachelor's and Master's degrees awarded, while based on theory and sciences, have a clearly pronounced occupational and applied emphasis. They are specifically designed to respond to the demands and development needs of business and industry.

LAMK is an institution of higher education, and accordingly LAMK is also active in research and development, again with a clear applied orientation and aim. More on R&D at LAMK can be found here.
