Once the admissions decisions are for accepted students become available, they will be posted by email by June 30th.  Spring 2017 joint application results will be published on 30 June 2017 at the latest.​

Fees
There is no application fee. As of 1.8.2017 tuition fees apply to new degree students from non-EU/EEA countries. The tuition fee for the spring semester is 1 975 euros paid by Dec 8th, 2017.​ For more information please visit the tuition fee pages.

English requirements

Students are required to have a good command of English at an academic level, but there are no formal language certificate requirements.

Enclosures to application

All enclosures to the application must arrive in the admission services of Lahti University of Applied Sciences by 27 September 2017 at 3 pm Finnish time.

Discretionary admission

Lahti UAS uses discretionary admission. Discretion only concerns applicant’s eligibility to apply. Discretionary applicants are included in the student selection process in the same way as other applicants.
How to apply in discretionary admission

Entrance Examinations

All applicants who have demonstrated their eligibility will be invited to sit an entrance examination. Final selection is based on the result of the entrance examination. Please note that in many cases the Embassy does not grant visas for attending school entrance exams.​ Check before you send the application form, whether participation in the examination is possible.

International Business of Lahti UAS will arrange the entrance examinations abroad in Vietnam and in Russia (St. Petersburg) in case of 10 or more eligible applicants. The dates and venues abroad will be informed later.​

Co-operating UAS’ Bachelor’s Degree Programmes

An applicant who has applied to 1-6 degree programmes that are included in the same field of study and accept each other's results will be invited only to one entrance examination. The result will be accepted in all the co-operating degree programmes that the applicant has applied to. Please note, that only the highest option within the same examination group can invite you to the entrance examination.

Finnish requirements

Since January 2016 all applicants for the Bachelor's Degree in Nursing are required to have basic Finnish skills (level A2).  Any documentary evidence of the Finnish language skills is not required but the Finnish language skills will be tested in the entrance examination. Student selection

Business Information Technology and International Business
Students will be selected using two methods:

  • ​35 % of applicants are selected based on the sum total of points awarded for school performance and for the entrance examination. Points awarded for school performance are based on the Finnish matriculation examination certificate.
  • 65 % of applicants are selected based on the points awarded for the entrance examination.

Nursing

  • All applicants are selected based on the points awarded for the entrance examination.​

Results will be informed by 30 June 2017 and studies start 28 August 2017.

We typically receive three to seven applications per study place. However, there is some variation between programmes. The number of applicants participating in the exams is significantly lower
