Enclosures to application
All enclosures to the application must arrive in the admission services of Lahti University of Applied Sciences by 8 February 2017 at 3 pm Finnish time. Enclosures sent by fax or by email are not accepted.
Lahti UAS uses discretionary admission. Discretion only concerns applicant’s eligibility to apply. Discretionary applicants are included in the student selection process in the same way as other applicants.
How to apply in discretionary admission
All applicants who have demonstrated their eligibility will be invited to sit an entrance examination. Final selection is based on the result of the entrance examination. Please note that in many cases the Embassy does not grant visas for attending school entrance exams. Check before you send the application form, whether participation in the examination is possible.
The entrance examinations are held abroad in cooperation with FINNIPS
Co-operating UAS’ Bachelor’s Degree Programmes
An applicant who has applied to 1-6 degree programmes that are included in the same field of study and accept each other's results will be invited only to one entrance examination. The result will be accepted in all the co-operating degree programmes that the applicant has applied to. Please note, that only the highest option within the same examination group can invite you to the entrance examination.
Business Information Technology and International Business
Students will be selected using two methods:
- 35 % of applicants are selected based on the sum total of points awarded for school performance and for the entrance examination. Points awarded for school performance are based on the Finnish matriculation examination certificate.
- 65 % of applicants are selected based on the points awarded for the entrance examination.
- All applicants are selected based on the points awarded for the entrance examination.
Results will be informed by 30 June 2017 and studies start 28 August 2017.
Confirming a study place in higher education
We typically receive three to seven applications per study place. However, there is some variation between programmes. The number of applicants participating in the exams is significantly lower
