Application

Online application 9 February - 14 February 2012

You can apply for up to four (4) degree programmes conducted in English at www.admissions.fi during autumn application period.

An application submitted online is directly received by the admissions office of the UAS of your first choice. Online application system will give you your individual application number – please save the number for future reference.

The online application service is open until 14 February 2012 at 4.15 pm Finnish time (+2 hrs GMT). During the application period, the service is open 24 hours per day, except for short maintenance periods during the night.

Consider when informing your contact details. The place of the entrance examination will be determined by the country informed in your application form.

If an applicant submits multiple applications, only the last application will be taken into consideration.

Applicants with non-Finnish qualifications:

1) A copy of an original certificate of an upper secondary level qualification
    (Final grades from upper secondary school should be involved.)

2) A copy of an authorised Finnish, Swedish or English translation of the certificate, if the certificate is not written in one of these languages

3) A compulsory IELTS (copy) or TOEFL (original) certificate for applicants who are not citizens of an EU/EEA country


Documents must arrive at the UAS of your first choice by 24 February 2012 at 4.15 pm Finnish time.

Applicants with Finnish qualifications:

Finnish matriculation graduates or holders of the Finnish vocational qualification do not need to send certificate copies during the application period.

Paper application form

A paper application form is available from the admissions offices. Please remember that a paper application form must arrive at the UAS of your first choice by 14 February 2012 at 4.15 pm Finnish time. A postal stamp from that date will not be sufficient. All applications arriving after the closing date are void.

Consider your options of preference carefully

You can apply for up to four different degree programmes at UAS in Finland. The order of preference chosen in the application is binding and cannot be altered after the application closes.

If you are not accepted on the programme of your first preference, your points will be checked to see if you can be accepted for your second, third or fourth preference. If you are accepted on the degree programme of your first preference, you cannot be selected for your second, third or fourth preference.

Changing the application

The order of preference can only be changed during the application period. Changes in address or other relevant personal details can be changed outside the application period. All changes in the application or additional information must be sent in writing (by email) to the admissions office of the UAS of your first preference.

Appeals

It is not possible to appeal against the admission selection criteria or deadlines. Late or incomplete applications do not constitute grounds for an appeal.

Refer to requirements
In your appeal, you must state which degree programme appeal concerns, the decision you appeal against and the reason for the appeal. In order to make a clear statement, you need to refer to the entry requirements for the programme in question.

Student selection decision can be changed only in those cases where it is clearly shown that the UAS has not followed the student admission criteria.

Time limit
The appeal must reach Admissions Office no later than two weeks after the applicant has received his/her notification.
