Fees and Scholarships

Tuition is provided free of charge, but the students have to buy books and other educational material themselves.

To obtain a residence permit, foreign students have to make a bank deposit of at least 6000 euros for each year of studying to cover their living costs in Finland.

Obtaining part-time job is difficult and not recommended during the studies. It is important to note that for students who do not speak Finnish, a limited number of jobs will be available.

Lahti University of Applied Sciences does not offer any scholarship programmes for international students.

Credit Transfers

Lahti University of Applied Sciences does not accept credit transfers from abroad as part of the degree.

 

Degree Programmes taught both in Finnish and in English

NB. The language of instruction of the following degree programmes is Finnish, however it normally is possible to complete the degree with a good command of the English language, and intensive courses in the Finnish language during the first year of study so that the student can complete the programme in Finnish:

Degree Programmes taught only in Finnish

The language of instruction of all the other degree programmes taught at Lahti University of Applied Sciences is Finnish, and admission is not possible without a good command of the Finnish language.

* Students attending degree Programmes instructed in Finnish are selected through a separate national joint application system www.amkhaku.fi (in Finnish and Swedish only) based on school certificates, work experience and entrance examinations. Next application period from March 5th until April 3rd 2012.
