Lahti region

The Lahti region is the 5th largest urban region in Finland. With its versatile range of services the City of Lahti forms the centre of an economic region with around 200,000 inhabitants, as well as a thriving business city. The surrounding woodlands and landscapes with lakes provide a safe, green and stimulating living environment to the residents of the region.

The Lahti region forms part of the Helsinki metropolitan area. Lahti is ideally located in the centre of Southern Finland, with good traffic connections to other parts of Finland. We are only an hour's drive away from the greater Helsinki region and the Helsinki-Vantaa international airport. The new Helsinki-Lahti railway has shortened the travelling time from Helsinki to Lahti to less than 50 minutes by train.

In addition, Lahti is also the gateway to the Finnish Lake District. The waterway stretching from Lake Vesijärvi via the Vääksy Canal to Lake Päijänne reach as far as central Finland.

Safe, clean, green, sporty and stimulating - Lahti is a great place for living and studying!
