The Products produced by the Project
Case studies
The project produced 12 real SME case studies, two written by each partner. The case studies are accompanied with teaching notes and best-practice descriptions. Teaching notes is a supporting tool for the teacher describing what experiences the previous
users have had when using this particular case study and how to run the case with students. One best-practice desciption from each
partner was collected in this project in order to support the case writing process.
The case studies are all in English. They are in a written form (work, excel or pdf file). One written case study is about 15-30 pages including
the actual case, teaching notes and possible appendices. There will be one best-practice description from each partner. The case studies have
been piloted and evaluated during the project.
Dear business teachers, you are welcome to use these case studies free of charge.
With the support of EU Leonardo da Vinci the writing of 12 SME case studies became possible.

The Case Method Guide
The second product of the project is the Case Guide. It is a handbook with 84 pages which consists of theoretical background about the benefits and problems connected with the case method, guidelines for selecting and writing suitable case studies and different approaches to teaching with cases.
Potential users will find the Guide the main tool for starting or developing the use of the case method as it contains practical instructions how to write case studies and teaching notes, which guide the new user. It also contains best-practises of using case studies and one case study. In order to support the use of the case method a process description of writing case studies, using them and guiding students to learn with the method, is included in the Guide. It guides new (and also experienced) users through the whole process. As appendix in the Guide is a best-practise documentation model. The guide is published in English, Finnish, German, Dutch, French and Slovene. They are published in CD ROM and in printed version. You can find the English Case Method Guide here on this wb site as printable version.
